| SECOND WEEK OF TRAINING I soon learned that the physical training objective was continous. The instructors called the process "building us up," at the time I didn't think so, however, it put me in good physical shape for the last week of training. During this week of training I learned to jump without individual command in a four (4) man stick from either door of the 34-foot tower. A different training device called the "suspended harness," was taught on which I learned to control the parachute during descent, how to slip and to turn in the air. The Swing Landing Trainer taught how to make a parachute landing fall in such a way that we could fall in any direction. This new training aid was very effective in keeping us alert and ready for the PLF in any direction. |
